The Scarlet garner: The Child at The Brook-Side Hester meets Dimmesdale in the woodwind where she tries to convince him to flee with her to Europe, to start their new lives. Then, Hester use ups her Scarlet garner A on her bosom. Preparing to leave the forest, Hester calls Pearl, who is currently playing in the woods, to come back. Pearl unexpectedly stops at the brook, however, and points her dactyl at Hesters bosom, asking Hester to re-attach the letter.
