The Scarlet  garner: The Child at The Brook-Side    Hester meets Dimmesdale in the   woodwind where she tries to convince him to flee with her to Europe, to start their new lives. Then, Hester  use ups her Scarlet  garner A on her bosom. Preparing to leave the forest, Hester calls Pearl, who is currently playing in the woods, to come back. Pearl unexpectedly stops at the brook, however, and points her dactyl at Hesters bosom, asking Hester to re-attach the letter. This action shows a  of  spell discrepancy between Hesters and Pearls thought. When Hester pulls  remove her scarlet letter and unties her hair, she is anticipating her new and better life. Pearl, on the contrary, cannot   select this new side of her mother. As she approaches Hester, she looks into the brook and sees the picture of herself   knowledgeability reflected in the water. This moment suggests that although Hester has removed her scarlet letter and tries to   change of mind her identity, Pearl is still the same gir   l and is not   voluntary to change along with Hester. When Pearl is  curious and asks ab surface Hesters letter, she raises the question whether Hester is doing the right thing. Nevertheless, the most important point in this scene is that Pearl and her mother are suddenly   estrange from each other.

 Later Pearl asks Dimmesdale to announce to the town his   family relationship with her and Hester. Even though Pearl may have a clue that Dimmesdale is her father, she is not completely certain about that and  qualitys Dimmesdale is a third person in her life who might   correct her mother from her.
